When you test positive

NEW  When you test positive at medical institutions /PCR centers etc. with doctors' confirmation

If you test positive at medical institutions or PCR centers with doctors' confirmation and fall into the following categories, you are subject to notify and need to register with the "My HER-SYS" and input your health condition everyday by yourself.

Please check the SMS message that you should receive after you test positive.

Those who fall into the following categories need to register with the "My HER-SYS" and input health condition everyday by themselves.

・Those aged 65 and over at the time when you test positive

・Those who need hospitalization

・Those who are pregnant

・Those who are at risk of severe disease and require medications or oxygen therapy to treat symptoms from this infection.

(If you are not sure if you are entitled, please check with the medical institution where you did the PCR test.)

※My HER-SYS can operate in English, Chinese (Simplified/Tranditional), Korean, Spanish and Portguese. (Changes by the language setting of your smartphone or PC.)

※If you cannot do self-input on My HER-SYS by yourself or HER-SYS does not recognize your input more than 2 days since you test positive, HER-SYS will call you automatically (Basically in Japanese)  and you will input your health condition with telephone push-buttons.

If it is hard to communicate with the automated call, please wait for the Public Health Office to call you.
If your symptoms get worse and fell really bad, please consult the medical institution where you were tested, or call the "Positive Patient Support Center 0570-022-680 (8:00-21:00 daily) *Telephone interpretation available" or call #7119.

Except for those who mentioned the above, please recuperate at home and do the self-quarantine. (For 7 days in principle)

However, if it has been more than 24 hours since your symptoms subsided, or if you have no symptoms, you can go out for necessary shopping for food and other necessities. Please be sure tto perform infection prevent measures such as wearing a mask all the time.

If you would like to receive Life Support Supplies or a Medical Treatment Certificate and so on, please check the " Medical Treatment NAVI".

In order to apply for the Life Support Supplies, you will need to show the e-mail from the medical institution which notifed you that you tested positive or a notification paper given to you and a medical fare statement.

If you feel sick, consult your family doctor or the medical institution where you were tested, or call the "Positive Patient Support Center 0570-022-680 (8:00-21:00 daily) *Telephone interpretation available" or call #7119.

Positive with an Antigen Test Kit or  at PCR centers run by private sectors

 Those who fall into all of the following categories from ① to ⑦ should register with "Covid-19 Tested Positive Registration Center".

① Lives in Sapporo
② Those who were tested corona positive with the antigen test kit approved by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare and it is within 9 days from the date of symptom occurrence. (The onset date is 0 days).
③ Symptoms are light and stable
④ No malignant tumors or leukemia.
⑤ Not dialyzed
⑥ No immunodeficiency disease  such as HIV or cancer
⑦ Have a smartphone, tablet, or email address

Register with the "Covid-19 Tested Positive Registration Center (Kokuchimaru Plus) " 

Enter your information such as name, address, date of birth, and so on. And take a picture of the antigen test kit with the positive test result and upload it.

Within 24 hours after registration is completed, you will receive an e-mail from the health center about the test result. Please cooperate in self-restraint until you receive the e-mail.

Those who have symptoms and wish to see a doctor, or those who do not meet one of the above ① to ⑦ and cannot use the registration center will be judged by a medical institution.

Please consult with your home doctor or a medical institution that provides medical care for those who have tested positive by self-test. You can search it from Sapporo City website, or Emergency Medical Consultation Center Sapporo # 7119 can also provide the information. (Reservation is required and some medical fee such as the first medical examination may be your own expense.)

When you feel sick

The Sapporo City asks your understanding and cooperation in order to prioritize limited medical resources to those who are at high risk of becoming more severe (Message from the Mayor of Sapporo Nov. 11, 2022).

Assistance for school expenses such as school supplies, lunch, field trip and so on to the households with elementary and junior high schoolers whose income is a below certain amount.

Temporary Special Benefits for Households Raising Children in Sapporo in FY2022 [10,000yen per child] Updated Jan.30 2023

The City of Sapporo has provided "Temporary Special Benefits for Households Raising Children in Sapporo in FY2022" to support households raising children affected by coronavirus and the rising prices of goods, etc. since the last summer 2022.  The amount is 10,000yen per child and one time only.

Households raising children born on or after April 2, 2004 (children under 20 years old for those with certain disabilities) are eligible for the benefits. No income ceiling for receiving this benefits.

The City of Sapporo send the envelope below to the households that HAVE NOT RECEIVED the benefits in 2022 between the end of January and begenning of February 2023.

Inside of the envelope, there is an application form. Please fill it out refering to the following example and send it back by February 28th (Tue.), 2023.

After the document screening, the benefits will be deposited and the notice letter will be sent as well.

Special Living Assistance Benefits to Low-income Child-Rearing Households (Updated:Jan. 30 2023)

The City of Sapporo has provided the special benefits to the low-income households (as low as resident tax exempt households) raising children born on or after April 2, 2004 (children under 20 years old for those with certain disabilities) since the last summer 2022.

The amount is 50,000yen per child and one time only. Most of the eligible households have been received, however there are some households need to apply.

If you are eligible, but have not received this benefits and do not know how to apply, please call the Call Center below or inquire to SAPPRORO HELP DESK for Foreign Residents.

The application deadline is February 28 (Tue.) 2023.
